Summary: Have your valet carry it......
Comment: I am a professional chef who counts on Michelin to be accurate. The Italy guide, great. The Spain guide, fantastic. The France guide....well, don't ask the hookers to rate the bordello.
This guide is awful. Granted there are some maps. Granted it fits your pocket. However, if you can afford to eat or sleep in ANY place they recommend....even at the lower, bargain end.....have your butler talk to the concierge at the Connaught and make reservations for you. Your chauffeur won't need a map.
This book is yuppie drivel. Every place we visited that they recommend was overpriced, poorly staffed, and packed with Blackberry wielding bankers. If you want up and coming new wave English food...it ain't here. If you want authentic, old-school English charm....it ain't here. If you want to find a decent pub....it ain't here.
I don't know what else to say: this book almost destroyed my stay in London, a city I lived in and loved years ago. I almost suspect that somewhere in the fine print of this volume is the caveat: Advertising Supplement.
