Summary: Excellent Chicago Hotel History
Comment: I have often wondered what happened to some of the great Chicago hotels of
the 20th Century, like the Sherman, Morrison, LaSalle and others. The text
of this book answers many of these questions. The text also discusses the
architecture, decoration, and furnishing of early Chicago hotels. I wish
that the book had gone on in depth about the many hotels that sprang up in
the late 1920's. The postcard views of the hotel exteriors and interiors
are priceless. I expect to be looking through this book frequently and
enjoying it each time.

Comment: We really enjoyed this book. I am a fan of Chicago history and this just added more background. Some of the hotels I remembered either hearing about or being in. I would love to see another book that picks up where this one left off.

Comment: This book is a great source of info on the old hotels in Chicago. Many wonderful pictures of the grand old places. Very nice lay out of pictures and an easy read.

Comment: The authors have done their homework and given the reader lots of great information about the history of the Chicago hotel industry. The collection of photos is outstanding and the nuggets of great information under each helps the pictures come alive. It is easy to see why Chicago has evolved into the premier convention city in the world.
